Antonia Frederick Futterer. In the 1920s, this American explorer toured the Holy Land and searched for the Ark of the Covenant on Mt. Nebo in Jordan. Futterer’s descriptions and sketches of the site guided Tom Crotser in his 1981 search for the golden Ark.
