Only the legs of two figures on the pottery plaque have survived the centuries. Perhaps the figures represented deities abhorred by the people who desecrated the temple. As they destroyed columns and benches, they smashed all such images of the temple’s gods. The 14-inch (36cm) high plaque shows figures standing in the entrance to a temple.
