Cylinder seal of bluish-gray chalcedony, and impression of seal. A stylized and schematically rendered sacred tree is flanked by two figures that are half man and half bull. The bull-men support a winged sun disk from which emerge three stick like figures, identified as deities. To the right, a worshipping priest towers over the cultic scene. Faintly etched Aramaic letters, LSLM, to the left of the scene tell us that the late eighth century B.C. seal “belongs to Shallum.”
