Animal sacrifices were made on this Israelite altar from Beer-Sheva. Unlike the Mt. Ebal altar, this altar has horns at its corners. It stands three cubits high (5¼ feet), like the altar described in Exodus 27:1, on which the Israelites offered sacrifices when they were camped in Sinai.
