Works of art. From about the third century B.C., decorations were added to wheel-made and mold-made lamps. The innovation started in the workshops of the eastern Greek Empire, for example at Cnidos and Ephesus. This Cnidian lamp is wheel-made and has a flat topped spatulated nozzle. On each shoulder, the potter has applied a leaf design.
