Works of art. From about the third century B.C., decorations were added to wheel-made and mold-made lamps. The innovation started in the workshops of the eastern Greek Empire, for example at Cnidos and Ephesus. This mold-made Ephesus lamp has a sunken mirror and a grooved, loop handle. Swirls and lines decorate the shoulders and an amphora appears on the nozzle.
