Like an embroidered slipper, this Arabic lamp is boat-shaped and decorated with intricate geometric designs. Although this 13th–15th century lamp is one of the last oil lamps made, its elements are still those of its predecessors from many centuries past.

The filling hole does not have a rim, and the single wick hole is very narrow. Lamps like these have been found at Gezer and in Samaria.
