Mesha, king of Moab, was a contemporary of Ahab in the mid-ninth-century B.C. Yet, at Dibon, where Mesha erected a stele to commemorate his rebellion against Israel, no trace of a Late Bronze Age city was found. If the radical reconstructors are right, there should be a Late Bronze Age city at Dibon.
