The present rotunda, often called the Anastasis (“resurrection”), is the focal point of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The rotunda encloses the reconstructed tomb of Jesus, shown here. The rotunda, too, has been recently reconstructed incorporating some earlier elements.
