Israel Museum conservationist Joseph “Dodo” Shenhav displays the fragile seventh-century B.C. sword before taking it to the museum’s laboratories for cleaning and restoration.

Though it was badly damaged, the sword’s bronze haft, pieces of the wooden grip and even the sword-blade’s tip survive intact, making it the only complete sword of its size and type from this period yet discovered in Israel.
