Nefertity makes an offering to the Sun-Disc. Her elaborate blue wig drapes across her shoulder and upraised arm. Originally located in Nefertity’s own temple at Thebes, the Mansion of the Benben Stone, this block also displays the mitten-like hands at the end of three sun rays. Below the rays a hieroglyphic text tells that on the missing blocks behind the queen would have been a representation of a young girl. The text reads:
“The king’s daughter, of his body, whom he loves. Meretaten, born of the king’s wife Nefertity.”
The artist’s drawing reconstructs the entire scene as it probably appeared.
