Seymour Gitin and Trude Dothan, the co-field directors of the Tel Miqne (Biblical Ekron) excavation, stand beside a variety of altars from the seventh century B.C., including one horned altar several feet high. These altars were all discovered at Tel Miqne, a fortified Philistine city established in the twelfth century B.C.
