Bunches of grapes, their vines entwined in a Hercules knot, embellish the center of this finely carved stone. A meander design frames the fruit. Not found in its original architectural setting, this stone cannot be placed, only enjoyed as a beautiful example of the difficult craft of carving the extremely hard basalt rock.
