Carved in marble, the head of this young athlete was discovered in Isthmia. From the sixth century B.C., every two years in the spring, a Panhellenic festival calked the Isthmian Games was held. Perhaps the model for this statue was a participant in the Isthmian Games held in 51, when Paul was in Corinth.
