In a suburb of Corinth called Anaploga, archaeologists excavated the villa of a wealthy first-century A.D. family lavishly decorated with mosaics. This mosaic displays a large cat, perhaps a panther. The first Christian congregations in Corinth may have met in private homes like this villa.
