City of David Archaeological Expedition

Ahiel’s house, so named because an inscription including the name was found inside, is a four-room house. A placard with the number 8 marks the wall of one of the side rooms, where animals may have been kept. A lower, parallel wall to the right marks another side room. Steps to the left of the number 8 wall lead up to the house’s second story, with its roof-support pillars, where the family probably slept.
