Yigael Yadin, director of the Hazor excavations, photographed at Hazor, 1958. Under Yadin’s supervision, novitiate archaeologist Yigal Shiloh supervised the excavation around the entrance to Hazor’s water system—the trickiest area of the dig. Shiloh also worked for Yadin at Megiddo and at Masada.
