Anati interprets this petroglyph (an etching an rock) as a stick-figure man with upraised arms, left, praying before an abstract vertical-a stylized, schematic scene that appears an many rocks at Har Karkom. Finkelstein says the interpretation is in the eye of Anati and that the are may be the work of nomadic herders just killing time. Others have suggested that it represents a man dancing around a pole or a warning against snakes, in which a dead man lies sprawled before a triumphant snake.
