Dotted with numbered tags, all the wooden sections were meticulously labeled to record their correct locations. Running lengthwise across the boat, white plastic strings outline the planking structure. A dangling sprinkler, brought from Kibbutz Ginnosar, sprayed the boat continually to prevent it from drying out. The wood’s micro-structure was supported mainly by water. Any evaporation would lead to the wood’s collapse.
