Bumps of rock on the desert plain at Egra became monumental Nabatean tombs when completely hollowed out like the tomb in the foreground. Known as “the lonely one” (“el Farid” in Arabic), this undated tomb’s ornamentation was left unfinished, as its lower portion shows.
