Memorial to the “swine miracle.” The ruins of a two-level structure, with walls more than 3 feet thick, stand halfway up the hill overlooking the basilica. Shown here is a plan of the structure (upper drawing), as though looking down upon it from above, and a section (lower drawing), as though we are looking at the face of a vertical cut bisecting the structure through its apse. The arrows on either side of the plan show where this imaginary vertical slice was made.
