Curio from Building C. While excavating the southern room of Building C—now understood as part of the gatehouse—Professor Benjamin Mazar found a pendant among 40 storage jars and five large bowls. The 1¼-inch, faience pendant represents Sekhmet, the Egyptian goddess of war. Her downcast eyes, long tresses and fashion-model figure are sculpted in a distinctive planar style.
