Dead, but not mute, mummies have much to tell us about the ethnicity of ancient Egypt. A mummy recently identified as Queen Tiy (c. 1385–1338 B.C.E.) closely resembles her father Yuya (see photograph). This mummy features long, wavy brown hair, a high-bridged nose and moderately thin lips.
