Realistic representations of foreigners became common during the New Kingdom (1540–1070 B.C.E.). Made of glazed tile, this relief comes from the palace of Ramesses III (c. 1180 B.C.E.) in Tell el-Yahudiya. It portrays a prisoner of war, a probably Syro-Palestinian. Compare the reliefs of a Kushite and an Asiatic prisoner.
