The close-up of the scene shows a three-story springhouse—between Philip and the eunuch—with a gabled red-tile roof. Although the springhouse found at Ein Yael is only one story tall, with a vaulted roof, it is clear that the structure has undergone alterations during its history. The Ein Yael springhouse does have an arch similar to the one seen beside Philip’s right foot on the icon.
