An enigmatic installation. Two members of Zertal’s archaeological survey team, N. Mirkam and I. Shaked, stand beside an ancient structure of unknown purpose, located near the place where the Wadi Malih enters the Jordan Valley. Built of unmortared, worked stones, the structure probably had some role in agricultural processing, but it was not an oil press nor a wine press. Many other structures found during the survey challenge archaeologists to discover their purpose.
