A life-giving tree. A wall painting from the burial chamber of Pharaoh Tuthmosis III illustrates the sustaining powers of trees: The ruler is suckled by a breast protruding from a sycomore tree (unrelated to the American sycamore); an arm extending from another part of the tree supports the breast.
