The southern end of the eastern wall. The bend in the wall that indicates the beginning of the Hasmonean extension is very slight. In this drawing, a dotted line shows where the wall would be if it did not “bend”; the difference is small, but clear. If the wall line from the southeast corner to the “bend” is projected north for 650 feet, the resulting wall—at the northern end of these 650 feet—would be 8 feet west of the actual eastern wall.
