Garo Nalbandian

The southern end of the eastern wall. The bend in the wall that indicates the beginning of the Hasmonean extension is very slight. It can only be observed atop the wall, looking north from the southeast corner. The bend is therefore not detectable in this photo. However, the bend begins where a column, called the Column of Mohammed and which dates probably from the early Islamic period, protrudes from the wall (at right in the photo).
