The Land of Geshur Archaeological Project

As if they were real eggs, a volunteer gingerly sweeps earth off storage jars uncovered in Tel Hadar’s pillared hall. The excavators nicknamed these jars “eggs” because of their distinctive shape. Unlike much of the other pottery from the pillared hall, these “egg” storage jars have no known counterparts among Israelite ware, further strengthening the Biblical description of the Geshurites as distinct from the Israelites.
