Three-legged bowl. Often found in Iron Age II (c. 1000–586 B.C.) sites in Israel and elsewhere, vessels of this shape have Phoenician origins. This example, found in the central hall of the fortress, is not made of iron or bronze as most others are, but is carved from basalt, a dense, igneous rock.
