Preparing for an onslaught of tourism at Caesarea, these trained restorers, recent immigrants from the former Soviet Union, strengthen the walls of a Byzantine bathhouse. The influx of nearly half a million immigrants from the former Soviet Union to Israel over the last four years has provided the Authority with much-needed workers for the excavation of Caesarea, directed by Dr. Yosef Porath, and of other sites.
