Among the cult objects found at Dan is a seven-spouted pedestal oil lamp. Each of its spouts would have held a wick leading into the pool of oil in the lamp’s bowl. This unusual example recalls Zechariah 4:2, in which the prophet sees “a lampstand all of gold … and seven lamps on it, with seven lips on each of the lamps which are on top of it.”
