Clutching a tambourine, according to conventional interpretation, this goggle-eyed figurine probably represents the goddess Asherah. This modern plaster cast was made from a mold found in the tenth-century B.C.E. cult installation at Taanach. It is one of the earliest Israelite figurines/molds found in an unambiguous context.
