Elisha Qimron. A scholar at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Qimron was brought onto the Dead Scrolls team by Strugnell in about 1980 to help edit MMT, widely considered a crucial text for understanding the people who produced the scrolls. Over the years, partly due to Strugnell’s struggles with manic depression and alcoholism, Qimron has become the primary scholar on MMT.
