Exquisite gold earrings, also from the Late Roman period, lay mixed with the rubble accumulated during three separate periods of burials in Cave 1-A: the late Second Temple period (first century C.E. to 70), the Late Roman period, and the early Byzantine period (fifth and sixth centuries).
