Two surveyors demonstrate that the swinging door between room C and room A of Cave 2 still functions—and that you never know what you might find behind 2,000-year-old portals. Stone doors with iron hinges, extremely rare in the Second Temple period, are found only in the most elaborate tombs, such as that of Queen Helena (erroneously known as The Tomb of the Kings) in east Jerusalem.
