Hazor Excavations
Not your ordinary mug shot. Area supervisor Sharon Zuckerman of Hebrew University’s Institute of Archaeology perches on wall 3235, above a Canaanite cultic platform, or bamah, discovered last summer at Hazor. Made of a 2-ton stone, the basalt podium may have supported a chair or throne used during civic occasions or ritual ceremonies.
