Huddle up! A team of Hazor excavators gathers around a hefty fragment from the largest Late Bronze (1550–1200 B.C.) deity statue ever discovered in Israel. On the last day of the season, excavators discovered the statue in the courtyard of a Canaanite palace destroyed by a fire. The heat from the blaze shattered the statue, which dig director Amnon Ben-Tor plans to reconstruct.
