Ennion wine cup: “Ennion made it,” the signature of the first-century C.E. glassmaker from the Phoenician city of Sidon, is impressed, in Greek, on a glass wine cup. The cup is unique; no other glass from its mould has been found. Besides Ennion’s name, the wine cup shows four pairs of animals: a bull fighting a lion, a hound confronting a hare, and two pairs of birds in combat.
