A contemporaneous Edomite ostracon from H| orvat ‘Uza, about 10 miles southeast of Arad, bears a happier message: “Are you well? I bless you by Qos [the principal Edomite deity]. And now give the food that Ahi’ma/o … ” This appears to be a routine request for a shipment of grain, perhaps addressed to an Edomite functionary at the ‘Uza fortress, which probably had been taken over by Edomites toward the end of the Judahite monarchy.
