An assemblage of Phoenician Bichrome Ware was found in the same stratum as the clay jar. Sometime after 1150 B.C.E., the Phoenicians began crafting their distinctive Bichrome Ware, with its intricate patterns in red and black. These jars were probably shipped to Dor from production centers in Tyre or Sidon, in modern Lebanon.
