The cemetery of Qazone may be the last remains of the Nabatean communities that the ancient Jewish historian Josephus described as flourishing by the Dead Sea. Thousands of robbed tombs (pictured here) dot the landscape at Qazone, which lies on the eastern end of the Lisan peninsula, in modern Jordan.
