Harking back to an earlier time in Bethsaida’s history, an Iron Age jar handle bears the Hebrew letters MKY—short for Michyahu, meaning “Who is like Yahweh?” the personal name of the Israelite God. The name of the prophet Micah may be a truncated form of Michyahu.
