Like portals to the past, triangular windows were cut into this square pottery cult stand, found beside the raised platform in the open-air sanctuary. A frieze of small circles—created by pressing the end of a reed into the wet clay—decorated the top of the stand, which was badly damaged; a rope-like decoration separated the windows. The flat top of the stand may have functioned as a small altar for sacrificing small birds, such as pigeons, or for burning incense.
