This drawing illustrates Kaufman’s view that the First Temple was oriented 6.2 degrees south of west; he concludes the Second Temple was aligned exactly east-west. Jacobson aligns the Temple 10 degrees south of west, parallel to the Temple Mount’s southern wall.
