Ze’ev Meshel
Yahweh of Teman is invoked on this inscription from Kuntillet ‘Ajrud, in the Sinai, implying that even outside Judah there were cult installations dedicated to Yahweh. Teman (“the Southland”) is generally associated with Edom, southeast of Judah, and is named in the Bible as the place from which Yahweh marches. A second inscription from Kuntillet ‘Ajrud invokes “Yahweh of Samaria,” indicating that Yahweh worship was not exclusive to Judah.
