Fertility triad. A Mycenaean carved ivory box lid (c.1250 B.C.E.) from Ugarit, an ancient city in northern Syria, shows a goddess feeding two young gods, who are depicted as young ibexes standing on their hind legs. The ibexes appear again on a painted jar from Kuntillet ‘Ajrud (see photograph).
