A spiritual procession. A mosaic carpet filled with religious symbols covers the floor of Yattir’s southern church. At the entrance lies a 12-line inscription; above it is a cross standing on a sphere, perhaps symbolizing Christ’s triumphant reign over the world. The eight-pointed star inside the sphere frequently appears as the star of Bethlehem in Christian art.
