Before and after. These photos show the toll exacted by a year-and-a-half’s worth of construction on the Temple Mount. The aerial photo at left was taken in November 1999, shortly before work began; the photo above was taken in July 2001. Note the extensive new paving and the removal of many trees at upper left in the photo above due to the construction of a major arched entranceway (see arrow) to an underground mosque.
